BurroFest, Nordfest and Third Thursdays are returning to Mancos this June with music, entertainment, vendors, and more. Later this month, the League of Women Voters of Montezuma is partnering with local libraries to host an educational movie night. You're watching the Local News Roundup, brought to you by Choice Building Supply and Blondie's Trophy Room. I'm Connor Shreve. Mancos Creative District's Fifth Annual BurroFest is this Saturday, June 15th from 10:00 to 4:00 at Boyle Park. The event features music, art, food trucks, activities for the family, and of course, burros. Visit the BurroFest website for the full schedule of events. The Third Thursdays Cortez Downtown Market is opening for the season on Thursday, June 20th. The market will take place at Montezuma Park from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with live music by two-time Grammy Award-winner, Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience. For more music and entertainment, head over to Zoo Gallery for the '80s Night season opener after party. The Cortez Retail Enhancement Association has requested that attendees not bring their dogs to Third Thursdays this season for safety and space purposes. Mancos Brewing Company is raising money for two regional cancer support organizations with its annual Nordfest on Saturday, June 22nd. In addition to raising money for the cancer support community, Southwest Colorado and the Cancer Resource Alliance of Montezuma and Dolores Counties, the event is also a time to celebrate and remember loved ones who have fought cancer. Organized by a local musician, educator, and cancer survivor, Eric Nordstrom, Nordfest will feature five local bands dancing and more. The Dolores and Mancos public libraries are hosting an advanced screening of the film "Undivide Us" on Tuesday, June 25th at 5:30 and 6:30. A discussion on polarization and the media will follow both events. The event is free in conjunction with the League of Women Voters of Montezuma County, but the Dolores Public Library is requesting attendees call to register in advance.
