Discount Registration Ends Soon for Onward!’s Putt-Putt Tournament

Discounted registration for Onward! A Legacy Foundation’s 8th Annual Putt-Putt Tournament is available through Thursday, Jan., on the Onward! website. The tournament will be Saturday, Feb. 1. In a unanimous vote, the Mancos Creative District Board of Directors approved a fund-raising project to acquire the Mancos Opera House. The Sunflower Theatre and Four Corners Writers present Live Reading from Four Corners Voices at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25. at the Sunflower Theater. Tickets are available on the Sunflower website. I'm Connor Shreve. Discounted registration for Onward! A Legacy Foundation's Eighth Annual Putt Putt Tournament is available through Thursday, January 23rd. The tournament will be on Saturday, February 1st with a check-in at 4:00 PM at the Cortez Area Chamber of Commerce. Register as a team of four or compete as an individual. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team for the best team costume and for the best individual costume. This year's theme is Heroes and Villains. All proceeds from the event go to the Onward! Endowment Fund to support local nonprofits. The Mancos Creative District will launch a fundraising drive to buy the Mancos Opera House. The Creative District Board worked this past year with a consultant to develop the Opera House into a community hub of creativity, connection, and learning. To volunteer for the fundraising committee, email chelsea@themancoscreativedistrict.com. The Sunflower Theatre and Four Corners Writers will present a live reading from Four Corners Voices at 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 25th. Contributors will read their poetry, short stories, and essays. Copies of their anthology will be for sale. Tickets are $10 and are available on the Sunflower Theatre's website. Print your own Valentine's Day cards at the Mancos Common Press during workshops Saturday, January 25th, and February 15th and 16th. The January workshop includes materials and instruction on how to use the antique letter press. In February, instructor Kathy Pike will lead a two-day immersive workshop on monotypes using gel printing plates. Space is limited, so register today on the Mancos Common Press website.
