The Raven Narratives is coming to the Sunflower Theater on Friday, June 7th. The show will feature live storytelling with an opportunity for audience members to share their own personal stories with the theme of weather. Tickets are on sale on the Sunflower Theater's website. Mancos Friends of the library is auctioning off a night in a local fire lookout tower. The auction will take place online from Monday, June 3rd to Sunday, June 9th with bidding closing at 8:00 PM. The winner will receive a one night stay in the Jersey Jim Fire Lookout Tower, located in northeast of Mancos in the La Plata Mountains Saturday July 13th. You can place your bid on the Mancos Friends website. Hiking in the Southwest means encountering all sorts of wildlife, some less friendly than others. Durango Kennel Club is offering rattlesnake avoidance training this Saturday, June 1st at the Sky Ute fairgrounds. Led by a professional dog trainer, dogs will learn how to ID rattlesnakes by scent, sound, and sight, and know to avoid the snakes through exposure to live rattlesnakes under control of an experienced handler. The cost of the training is $100 and it's not a regular class offering so do make sure to take advantage to save vet bills of over $300. The Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance is seeking volunteers for its upcoming Four Corners Indigenous Art Market. Volunteer duties include sales assistant, parking attendant, and event support. Volunteers will be notified of their assignments and schedule by June 7th. The market will take place at the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum on Saturday, June 15th from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
