The Four Corners Writers Anthology is holding its kick-off event. With winter weather approaching, Mancos Foodshare has begun its Annual Winter Clothing Drive. The Cortez Public Library has a modified schedule this week, and a survey shows where Coloradoans would donate money if they won the lottery. You're watching the "Local News" roundup, brought to you by Hospice of Montezuma and Keesee Motor Company. I'm Connor Shrieve. The Four Corners Writers Anthology is having its inaugural event on Wednesday, November 13th from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at the Cortez Public Library. It'll feature 12 works of fiction and non-fiction, as well as 24 works of poetry by local writers. The winning writers will be introduced and the winner of the cover art contest will be revealed. The editors will also be sharing about the selection process along with a preview of the forthcoming anthology. Mancos Foodshare's Annual Winter Coat Drive has begun and will run through December 16th. Clean, gently-used coats, hats, and gloves can be dropped off on Mondays from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. If you can't make it during that time, you can message Mancos Foodshare on Facebook. They'll do their best to accommodate. Cortez Public Library will be closed through Monday, November 11th in order to replace the HVAC system. The installation was originally scheduled for October, but was delayed to November 4th. The library apologizes for the inconvenience and asks patrons to plan accordingly. In a recent survey by LotteryTexts, over 3,000 Americans were asked what philanthropic cause they would support if they suddenly became wealthy. Participants from Colorado showed an interest in historic, cultural and environmental conversation by voting to support the preservation of Mesa Verde National Park. To see the full results of the survey visit the LotteryTexts website. You can learn more about these and other stories online at montezumalocal.news. Thanks for watching this edition of the "Local News" roundup. I'm Connor Shreve.
