The City of Cortez has two business and community grants that are still open for application. The Dolores Harvest Festival and Car Show is happening Saturday, September 28th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Joe Rowell Park. The festival is free to attend and will include live music, food, and fall activities, like hay rides and pumpkin painting. The car show will end at 3:00 PM with awards announced at four. Grand Autumn Eve will be taking place in Mancos on Saturday, September 28th. The event celebrates local businesses in Mancos with music, food, and extended shopping hours. Festivities will begin at 1:00 PM, with the Navajo Fry bread at the Kilgore American Indian Art Gallery. A pie baking contest is happening at the Community Center with pies due at 4:00 PM and winners announced at six. The Mount Lookout Grange 8th Annual Pig Roast is back on Saturday, September 28th from three to 6:00 PM. Meal and event entry is $30, with tickets available for purchase on the Mancos Grange website. Children under 12 are free. The meal will be sourced from the Mancos Valley, with drinks from Dolores River Brewery, Mancos Brewing Company, and Fence Line Cider. Two City of Cortez Community grants are still open for application. The deadline to apply for the City of Cortez Community Support Grant is October 18th.
