Artists and art lovers are invited to contribute to public art in Mankas. The City of Cortez will host an informational session about the natural medicine industry. New southwest Colorado. Phone lines may receive a different area code and an electric vehicle charging station is installed in Cortez. The Mancuss Creative District seeks dedicated individuals and art enthusiasts to join its public art advisory committee. The volunteer committee promotes community engagement through art, like the current effort to add murals, sculptures, and other art around Mancuss. Project. Proposals for the new public art installations are due by Friday, July 18th. Submissions are open to individual artists and artist teams. As long as the primary artist or project lead is a four corners area, resident projects must cost $3,000 or less. Artists with higher project costs are encouraged to submit their proposals for future consideration. Potential art sites for two and three dimensional art include walls, fences, bridges, and open spaces around mancuss. The Mancuss Creative District Public Art Advisory Committee will review the proposals and the town of Mancuss board of trustees will select the final projects in August, 2025. The City of Cortez invites community members to learn about and discuss the natural medicine industry at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, July 15th at the Cortez City Hall. Discussion will cover how the city may license and regulate natural medicine businesses such as healing centers, cultivation, and manufacturing plants and labs. Residents can also view the session through the city of Cortez's live stream link, or YouTube channel. Southwest Colorado has a new area code starting July 7th, new phone lines may be assigned a 7 4 8 area code that overlays the same geographic region as the existing nine seven oh area code. All previously assigned phone numbers and emergency numbers will not change. If you have questions regarding the new area code, contact ting internet, or visit the Colorado Public Utilities Commission website. Electric vehicles can now fast charge in Cortez an electric vehicle fast charging station. Opened at the Safeway on 1510 Main Street. The Colorado Department of Transportation and the Colorado Energy Office funded the station through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Program to fill the 120 mile charging gap between Durango and Bluff Utah. The direct current fast charging station allows certain vehicles to reach an 80% charge in as few as 20 minutes. The station accommodates both North American charging standard and combined charging system connections. Alliance for Automotive Innovation data suggests that by late 2024, Colorado has the highest number of EV registrations nationwide at 26.4%. Followed closely by California at 26.2 CEO of Mesa Verde Country. Brian Bartlett says the station will encourage EV Travelers to drive the trail of the ancient scenic byway and we'll support a cleaner energy future.
