Winners Announced for Cortez Coloring Book Contest

Two spring-themed events are happening this Saturday, April 27th: a Spring Craft Bazaar at the Dolores Community Center and Flower Fest, a fundraiser for Mancos Valley Dragonfly School, at the Mancos Opera House. Winners of the Historic Cortez Coloring Book have been announced. To see all the coloring book submissions, visit the Cortez Cultural Center May 2nd through the 4th to view the artist showcase with a special reception for the artists on Friday, May 3rd. Books will be available to purchase or download in May. A Spring bazaar and spring festival are happening this Saturday, the historic Cortez coloring book contest announced its winning artists, and the Cortez News Collaborative is asking for your input. You're watching the local news roundup brought to you by Big O Tires and Blondie's Trophy room. I'm Connor Shrieve. Two spring themed events are happening this Saturday, April 27th. First, the town of Dolores is hosting a spring craft bazaar at the Dolores Community Center from nine to four. Then Flower Fest, a fundraiser for Manchus Valley Dragonfly School will be starting at five at the Manchus Opera House. The fundraiser will include live music, food, drinks, an auction, and more. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best flower child attire for an opportunity to win a prize. Winners of the historic Cortez coloring book have been announced. Of the 70 plus coloring pages that were submitted, 32 were selected to be included in the book. The submissions were from 29 local artists and students with the youngest participant being six. A free digital copy will be available for download in early May, and contain at least one submission from each artist, including ones not selected for the physical book. Print copies of the coloring book will be for sale at the Montezuma Heritage Museum and Cortez Cultural Center in mid-May. To see all the coloring book submissions visit the Cortez Cultural Center May 2nd through the 4th for the artist showcase, with a special reception for the artist happening Friday, May 3rd from 4:30 PM to 6:30.
