Art Workshops at Mancos Public Library

The City of Cortez’s second and final Clean-Up Week of this year is happening Monday, Oct. 21 through Friday, Oct. 25th with an added e-waste recycling event for electronic items on Saturday, Oct. 26. Mancos Public Library and Mancos School of the West are collaborating to host two art workshops: a fall painting workshop on Saturday, Oct. 26 and a gel plate workshop on Saturday, Nov. 9. The Cortez Public Library will be closed Monday, Oct. 21st through Saturday, Oct. 26th in order to replace the HVAC system. Beginning Monday, October 21st, the city of Cortez will hold its second cleanup week and the Cortez Public Library will be temporarily closed. Meanwhile, the Mancos Public Library is collaborating with guests and organizations to bring seminars and workshops this fall. You're watching the "Local News Roundup", brought to you by Big O Tires and Hospice of Montezuma. I'm Sadie Smith. The city of Cortez's second and final cleanup week of the year is happening Monday, October 21st through Friday, October 25th. This cleanup week will also have an added e-waste recycling event on Saturday, October 26th at the Montezuma County Landfill, specifically for electronic items. Those who need assistance moving items to the curb can call the City Service Center the week prior. For more details and instructions, visit the City of Cortez website. Mancos Public Library and Mancos School of the West are collaborating to host two art workshops. First, Shawn Ahkeah will be leading a fall painting workshop on Saturday, October 26th at 2:00 PM. Later on Saturday, November 9th, starting at 9:30 AM, Kathy Pike will be leading a gel plate workshop. Workshops are open to all experience levels, but space is limited. You can reserve your spot by purchasing a ticket online on the Mancos School of the West website. The Cortez Public Library will be closed Monday, October 21st through Saturday, October 26th in order to replace the HVAC system and ask that you please plan accordingly.
