Hospice of Montezuma invites guests to attend an advanced directive seminar. The Cortez Workforce Center will host a Spring Job Fair and join the City of Cortez and celebrate Earth Day with an environmental stewardship project. And the Cortez Public Library adds a new event to its monthly lineup. You're watching the "Local News Roundup" brought to you by Blondie's Trophy Room and Big O Tires. I'm Connor Connor Shreve. Hospice of Montezuma will hold an advanced directive seminar from 8:30 to 2:00 on Wednesday April 16th. Advanced directives communicate a person's wishes so that medical care and other decisions can be carried out accordingly when he or she is unable to speak for themselves. The seminar features five guest speakers and covers a variety of planning tools and topics including estate, finances, end of life care, and medical decisions. Tickets are $20 with lunch provided. For more info, visit the Hospice of Montezuma website or call to reserve a spot. The Cortez Workforce Center will host a Spring Job Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17th at the Montezuma County Annex. The fair will connect job seekers with employers and offer spot interviews. Additionally, it will feature resources for training and education programs, as well as service providers. Veterans are allowed early event access at 9:30 a.m. For more information, visit the City of Cortez website. The Cortez Public Library will host life-affirming discussions from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. every third Thursday, starting April 17th. The group will be facilitated by adult services coordinator, Heather Rowe. For more information, you can contact the Cortez Public Library. Join the City of Cortez for the Earth Day Park Cleanup from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22nd. Volunteers can pick up garbage bags and gloves at the Cortez Recreation Center during regular hours before or on Tuesday, April 22nd. Individuals, groups and organizations are invited to participate. A list of local parks, volunteer tips, and other information can be found on the City of Cortez website. You can learn more about these and other stories online at montezumalocal.news.
