The new River Trail Outpost in Dolores is part antique store, part clothing store, part art gallery, and definitely worth a visit! This story is sponsored by Choice Building Supply Ace Hardware and the law firm of Downs, McDonough, Cowan and Foley
You never know what treasures you may find at the new River Trail Outpost in Dolores, an antique mall, art store and clothing boutique all rolled into one. You're watching the "Local News Network" brought to you by Choice Building Supplies, Ace Hardware and the law firm of Downs, McDonough, Cowan & Foley. I'm Wendy Graham Settle. When Mickey and Ellie Brown moved from Cedar City, Utah to Dolores they wanted to start or buy a business. And they did just that with the help of fate and friends. Brown met three Dolores area antique dealers right after the Antique Charm Mall where they sold their wears closed earlier this year. That's when the Browns stepped up to open the River Trail Outpost, so named. Because it's next to the River Trail at Riverside Park. Barb Wallace, Fran Roggenbach and Lori Shearer who were former Charm Mall tenants now run corners in the Outpost main room where they sell their antiques. The Browns decided to turn the other half of the building into a combination art gallery and clothing store. Walking through the store is like browsing through a year-round indoor arts and crafts fair.
And what our main focus was going to be is for them to get their products out there. You know, they sell a lot of crafts, country crafts, antiques and that. And then over on this other side what we want to do is just put a real big focus on your local artists, local craftsmen, and that, so everything that you'll see in here that's done by artists is done by local people first and foremost.
Brown who owned and operated a skateboard and BMX shop in Cedar City hopes to rotate artists and vendors on display to add variety and attract return shoppers. River Trail Outpost is located at 1321 on Railroad Avenue in Dolores. Thank you for watching this edition of the "Local News Network". I'm Wendy Graham Settle.
