The event will feature live music from the local bands the Crags, Farmington Hill, and Little Wilderness, resulting in a recording for a live local music album that'll be released on CD and vinyl. Doors open at 5 PM at the Mancos Opera House. Tickets and album pre-orders are available online. Mancos Public Library is sponsoring a screening of the film "The Right to Read" on Thursday, February 29th at the Mancos Opera House, followed by a Q&A session. "The Right to Read" is a documentary highlighting the importance of literacy through the stories of an NAACP activist, a teacher, and two American families. Doors open at 6 and admission is free. This is the last week to view Art exhibits by Amy Grogan and Susan Reed. Grogan's landscape block print exhibit called "Landscapes From the Heart: "An Artist's Connection to the Southwest Landscape" is showing at the Cortez Cultural Center through February 29th. Reed's work is being showcased at the Dolores Public Library through the end of the month as well. Her work is characterized by textual collage, mixed media painting, and conceptual view of nature. Tax season has officially started with the Colorado Department of Revenue announcing that it can now process 2023 income tax returns. You can file taxes online either through the Department of Revenue's online portal, or through a third-party vendor. Taxes can also be filed by mail.
